SpaceX successfully launched 20 more Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Thursday, further expanding its constellation in orbit. Among the satellites launched, 13 are direct-to-cell capable, promising to enhance communications in remote and underserved areas.
This latest launch marked a significant milestone for SpaceX, as it was the 75th mission from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) for the company. The Falcon 9 booster used for this mission had completed its fourth overall launch, showcasing the reusability of SpaceX’s rockets. Following the successful deployment of the satellites, the booster made a flawless landing on the droneship “Of Course I Still Love You.”
With this launch, SpaceX has now completed 48 missions so far this year, staying on track to meet its ambitious launch schedule. The next mission on the agenda for the company is another Starlink launch from Florida, scheduled for Sunday.
